Recent Parish Activities:
Sunday, August 16, 2009; St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church celebrated a special Dedication Mass at our Outside Chapel on our new church property to dedicate our newly completed Prayer Garden. Father Joseph Dinh, pastor, dedicated the new Prayer Garden to the whole community with hopes that all Christians would come at their leisure and spend time in prayer and meditation to our Lord.
The Prayer Garden has as its focal point a pure white, five foot statue of the Blessed Christ. In addition, all of the 'Stations of the Cross' are situated on a walking trail throughout the garden with the prayer for each station attached to the station. There are several benches provided for those who would like to stop and spend time in prayer and reflection.
Following Mass, the whole Parish enjoyed their Annual Parish Picnic at the Ashe County Park.
